“Salmon 3D” is a 2023 Tamil horror thriller directed by Shalil Kallur, who also wrote the script. The lead role is played by Vijay Yesudas with support from Jonita Doda, Rajiv Pillai, and Tanvi Kishore. Horror and suspense blend in the movie as it narrates a spine-chilling mystery that turns an otherwise festive event into a nightmare.

“Sarfarosh”, a business magnate, resides in Dubai with his wife “Sameera” and daughter “Shazaan”. When his family departs for his hometown, his college mates surprise him with a reunion party. What is to be a celebratory night turns ugly when a horrific murder happens at the party. The police begin investigation, but lacking evidence and criminal witnesses, it becomes more challenging to crack the case.

Once suspicion is fallen on Sarfarosh and his friends, all sorts of supernatural and unexplained events start unfolding. A spiritual force seems present, watching and controlling the environment. Sarfarosh is convinced that there is some unseen power that will lead him to the truth of the murder. With time against him and his life collapsing around him, he has to find out the secrets that lie hidden before becoming the next victim.

“Salmon 3D” provides a mix of mystery, suspense, and supernatural horror. Vijay Yesudas presents an engaging performance as a man torn between the real and the unknown. Though the film creates intrigue through its unusual premise, there are moments that feature conventional horror tropes. The suspenseful visuals and tense atmosphere, however, make it an engaging flick for fans of horror thrillers.
