It is a silent black and white short film.It is directed and produced by Dada Saheb Phalke.This story is based on mythological story of a Hindu King Harischandra . In this Harischandra’s wife role was played by male actor Anna Salunke. D.D Dabke played the lead role of Harischandra. Bhalachandra played the role of child artist. The film claimed a wide appreciation.
