“Sevakar” is a 2024 Tamil political thriller film written and directed by Santhosh Gopinath and produced by Rajan Joseph Thomas's banner. Prajin Pradmanabhan, Bose Venkat, and Aadukalam Naren have starring roles in the film.
The movie is about a dedicated “social worker” (Prajin Pradmanabhan), and along with his friends, he works day and night to serve the people of his town. His selfless services win him fame and admiration, and he is a celebrity in the town. His increasing popularity is, however, causing discomfort to nefarious politicians, who view him as an obstacle to their government.
Determined to bring him down, the politicians initially try to bully him, but when bullying fails, they turn to the police to harass and frame him. Desperate, he still continues to remain undeterred, unshaken in his mission. In a final desperate attempt, the strong forces strike at his kin, pushing him to the limit.
In the process of defending his loved ones, his image is tarnished; unjustly labeled as a terrorist and an anti-social factor. Confronted with false accusations and public ridicule, he is forced to clear his name and find the actual perpetrators.
Meanwhile, Bose Venkat, a honest and dogged policeman, decides to pursue the truth without any backup. He is bent on collecting evidence and bringing the culprits to their knees. As war intensifies, it becomes a battle of facts and lies, justice and corruption.
Will the social worker whistleblower clear his name and publish the dirty politicians book? Or will the system manage to silence his voice once and for all?
With good performances, spine-tingling action sequences, and an engaging story, “Sevakar” is a taut political drama of the battle of the true versus the corrupt. The film carries a strong message about justice, integrity, and the pursuit of truth.
