Sharafat (1970)

Sharafat is directed by Asit Sen, produced by Madan Mohla starring Dharmendra, Hema Malini and Ashok Kumar. The film was released in 1970. When Rajesh’s (Dharmendra) parents pass away, Jagatram(Ashok Kumar) looks after him, educates him with a hope of getting his daughter Rekha married to him. He gets him a job at the local hostel. Rajesh notices that his male students are distracted and are not concentrating on their studies. He decides to investigate. Rajesh finds out that the students visit a lively and a pretty courtesan Chandni(Hema Malini). He puts a stop to their visits to her place . On the pretext of teaching her to read and write, Rajesh starts frequenting to Chandni’s place every night and eventually falls in love with her. Chandni is said to be in search of her father . Jagatram realises that Rajesh and Chandni are in love with each other. The film was a blockbuster.
