Ratan is an honest and compassionate man. He has a compulsive habit of helping people and doing good for random strangers. This unique quality of his has often landed him in trouble and he has been fired several times from his jobs. One day he meets the poor girl named Sujata and comes to know that her marriage cannot take place because her family cannot afford the dowry. Ratan thus decides to help Sujata’s family by arranging her marriage with Mr. Mehra who does not want any dowry from her. But will this marriage fall through and is it want the bride and groom-to-be really want? The film is directed by K Vishwanath and produced by V V Sastry. The music is composed by R D Burman. The star cast includes Asrani, Raakesh Roshan, Utpal Dutt, Rati Agnihotri, Sujit Kumar, Vinod Mehra, Paintal, Om Prakash, Shammi, Sudhakar, Kiran Virale and Renuka.
