"Singam 3" (2017) is a Tamil action thriller written and directed by Hari and stars Suriya, Anushka Shetty, and Shruti Haasan. This high-octane sequel opens with DCP Duraisingam being dispatched to Visakhapatnam to look into the assassination of a police commissioner but soon finds himself facing a gang involved in selling toxic waste associated with influential players.

Duraisingam (Suriya) comes to Vizag on a CBI cover and pretends to be corrupt in order to go undercover close to the culprits. He initially confronts local henchman Ravi, who has connections with Madhusudhana Reddy (Sarath Babu). Reporter Vidya (Shruti Haasan) disguises herself as a student to track the activities of Singam. In the course of the investigation, Singam digs up a crime network of stale medicines, toxic fumes in a school, and the assassination of Commissioner Ramakrishna (V. Jayaprakash). The leads converge on businessman Rajeev Krishna, Australian businessman Vittal Prasad (Thakur Anoop Singh), and Union Minister Ram Prasad. Vidya writes a fictional article alleging Singam's corruption, but her charges enable him to move freely after he is dismissed from the CBI and shifted by the Home Minister.

Singam uncovers the illegal waste business and pins Reddy, who is killed in an encounter. He then goes to Australia to pursue Vittal Prasad and collects evidence of his involvement. When Vittal comes back to India, Singam pursues him from Hyderabad Airport into a forest, where a final encounter results in Vittal's death. The mission is accomplished, justice is delivered, and Singam is reinstated. He is now the strongest that he has ever been and back in action.

"SIngam 3" is quick-witted plot, excellent dialogue, and lots of edge-of-the-seat action. Suriya leads the movie with his thoughtful presence and dominating performance, and Hari's direction keeps the tempo of the earlier episodes. Even though the narrative is sometimes predictable, the film keeps viewers enthralled with its thrilling stunts, social commentary on dangerous waste, and high drama. Anyone who enjoys action movies or is a fan of the Singam franchise would love this watch.
