Happy Singh, played by Akshay Kumar is ridden with misfortune and problems everywhere he goes, thus his villagers from Punjab, decide to send him off to Australia with his friend Rangeela to give them some relief for a while and hope for him to bring back luck. Their tickets unfortunately get exchanged with Puneet, played by Ranvir Shorey and they reach Egypt. There he meets Sonia, played by Katrina Kaif and falls in love with her. However he is afraid to confess his love and leaves for Australia.
There Happy and Rangeela go to meet Lucky who is the king of Australian underworld. He refuses to come back with Happy to Punjab and throws them both out of his house. Happy is given shelter by a lady who owns a flower shop. Meanwhile Lucky gets paralyzed due to a series of accidents and Happy is appointed in his place. Incidentally the lady to gives shelter to Happy is Sonia’s mother and she gets upset that her daughter will be returning with her rich boyfriend and she is unaware of her mother’s plight after her father’s death. Thus Happy suggests that the lady use Lucky’s house as her own till her daughter is here. They even tell Sonia the hotels and clubs belonging to Lucky are all her mothers. Eventually during this time Happy and Sonia fall in love. However she is now in a dilemma about choosing Puneet and Happy. Eventually Lucky comes to his consciousness and tells everyone how depressed he was as a king and wants to be a good Sikh more tham anything else. Eventually, Sonia decides to marry Happy.
The movie is directed by Anees Bazmee and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah. The music is composed by Pritam.
