Sooryavansham is a musical emotional melodrama starring Anupam Kher, Amitabh Bachchan in a dual role. Other star cast are Jayasudha, Soundarya, Rachana Banerjee and Kader Khan. The film is the directorial debut in Hindi by the Telugu director E.V.V Satyanarayana.
The film released in 1999 is a remake of the film released in 197 in Tamil called the Suryavamsam is about a typical Indian family with values and responsibilities where the esteem of the family is held with high regards. It portrays the story of a father, obligations of a dutiful son, a role of a virtuous wife and the kind of harmony one deals in an Indian home united by the relationships and bonding.
A young well-mannered man is unable to please his father no matter how much he does for the family he is unable to reconcile to the father’s wishes and when he does finally they suspect him of poisoning his father. An emotional tale of a son and father being accepted.
