“Taana” is a 2020 Tamil-language action comedy directed by Yuvaraj Subramani and produced under Nobel Movies. The film features Vaibhav as Shakthivel, Nandita Swetha as Nivetha, Yogi Babu as Dooma and Pandiara as Shakti’s father.

“Shakti” belongs to a proud family of policemen, but he does not join the police force like his ancestors. He hesitates because of a rare voice disorder; whenever he gets nervous or anxious, his voice changes to a female tone. This is the reason behind the ridicule that makes him self-doubtful.

During a sports selection event for the police force, Shakti outperforms a corrupt DIG (Deputy Inspector General), bruising his ego. The DIG challenges Shakti, swearing that he will never allow him to become a policeman. Shakti cannot forget that promise during his life as he changes upon a dead body near a railway track. The policemen working on the scene say that it is a suicide but Shakti gets something of an idea.

With the help of a police constable, Shakti starts digging deep into the case. He discovers that there is a chain of mysterious murders all connected to a powerful builder and a corrupted DIG. As he shuts the gates of truth, his enemies start to try and silence him, but Shakti refuses to step back.

It follows the journey of self-discovery of Shakti, from overcoming his voice disorder to fighting against corruption and proving himself. Despite all odds against him, will he be able to expose the criminals? Will he be able to fulfill his family legacy and become a true policeman?
