“Teenz” is a 2024 Tamil science fiction adventure thriller film written and directed by Radhakrishnan Parthiban. The movie features the director himself along with 13 teenagers, and it brings an interesting combination of teenage energy and intrigue to the screen.

The movie embarks on a group of rebellious teenagers on a school-bunking adventure to a remote village where one of their grandmothers lives. What starts out as a thrill ride becomes ominous when, one by one, the teens start disappearing under suspicious circumstances. As the remaining group succumbs to fear and confusion, they realize that they might have gotten themselves into something much more sinister than they could have ever imagined.

The movie gains momentum once the teenagers embark on their journey, experiencing unusual and paranormal incidents in the process. But post-interval, the plot twists with the entry of an enigmatic character essayed by Radhakrishnan Parthiban. Although he is shown to be a pivotal character, his entry changes the tone and pace of the movie, slowing down the plot.

Even with this change, the movie is still captivating, owing to the new and star-studded cast. The young performers bring to their roles a real charm that makes their panic, elation, and determination credible. Even when the characters cry, run, or are in danger, their energy sweeps the audience into their lives.

“Teenz” blends suspense, adventure, and the paranormal into a story of survival and friendship. While the film's execution is not as large as its conception, it still offers a compelling mystery and a thrilling ride, driven by a cast of young and energetic performers.
