Thandel

The film "Thandel" is a new action film written and directed by Chandoo Mondeti. The story has been penned by Karthik Theeda. It has been produced by Bunny Vasu under Geetha Arts, presented by Allu Aravind, and features Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi in lead roles. It is set for a theatrical release on "7th February 2025".

The sizzling coastal cliffs and perilous surrounds of Srikakulam, "Thandel" brings to life a spine-chilling tale of local fishermen who unwittingly drift into Pakistani waters one day while out on their usual fishing adventure. A straightforward outing becomes an action-packed saga of survival, courage, and patriotism as they try to return home amidst the peril of an international war.

“Thandel” is derived from an actual 2018 incident where fishermen from Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh got drifted into the Pakistani Waters unintentionally during a fishing expedition. Typically moving to Gujarat for livelihood, they lost their way and crossed into Pakistan’s border, where they were put under arrest. The film depicts the dreadful struggle of the fishermen in Pakistan custody and the perseverance of their families to bring them back home.

At its core, "Thandel" is about love, revenge, and survival, which together form a rich tapestry of action, drama, and emotion. Naga Chaitanya gives a solid performance as the brave fisherman, while the strong and emotionally driven character in Sai Pallavi adds to the depth and intensity of the story.
