“Uyir Thamizhukku” is a 2024 Tamil political drama film written and directed by Adham Bava and produced by him under the Moon Pictures V. Creations. The film features Ameer Sultan, Imman Annachi, and Chandini Sreedharan in lead roles.

The narrative begins with the controversial killing of “Saithappet MLA” in Chennai. As police probe, gossip makes rounds that the district secretary of the ruling party, Pandian, is behind the murder through political rivalry. As suspicion brews, yet another prominent political leader, Pazhakadai Ramachandran, a minister, is discovered murdered in his residence under suspicious circumstances.

The case is allocated to “ACP Rajarajan”, who begins to unravel a nexus of corruption, power struggles, and secret agendas. Simultaneously, MGR Pandian, an ambitious but hapless politician, hopes to be a minister no matter what it takes. He accepts bribes and resorts to foul means to ascend the political ranks. But his life goes awry when he is suspected of killing Pazhakadai Ramachandran.

As Pandian struggles to establish his innocence, he encounters betrayals, media trials, and surprising revelations. Who actually murdered Pazhakadai Ramachandran? Is Pandian innocent or a part of some grand political game? The film peels away the seedy underbelly of politics, where power, greed, and ambition determine the course of a person's life.

Director Adham Bava offers a gritty political thriller that showcases the manipulations, betrayals, and backroom politics in the political scene of Tamil Nadu. Ameer Sultan delivers a decent mediocre performance as a politician plagued in chaos. Imman Annachi brings fire to the flick and Chandini Sreedharan does well at solving the mystery that lies around.

The film grabs you from its solid writing, sharp dialogues and twisty turns that keep unfolding. It tackles power politics, corruption and also queries justice and truth in politics today.

Tense building scenes, fine performances and a socially conscious statement are what “Uyir Thamizhukku” gives us and it is a compelling political drama till the end.
