Villain

“Villain” (2003), is a action heist film by K. S. Ravikumar. It features Ajith Kumar in the dual roles, along with Meena and Kiran Rathod. It follows Shiva, a bus conductor, who secretly steals from the corrupt to support an organization that helps people with disabilities. To stay undercover and evade arrest, he cleverly disguises himself as his differently-abled twin brother, creating a web of deception that keeps the authorities off his trail.

Shiva and Vishnu are fraternal twins, but nature could’ve easily made them identical given how similar their physical appearances were. Shiva is the elder by a few minutes and becomes a bus conductor while Vishnu has an intellectual disability. When Shiva discovers his biological parents’ machinations to send Vishnu away to an orphanage, he takes charge of the situation and resolves to run away with him. They shift to a big city where, despite all his efforts, Shiva cannot keep Vishnu out of danger. Sadly, a man by the name of Sundaramoorthy operates a beggar racket and physically accosts Vishnu, beating him to the point of crippling him. In order to provide for his brother, Shiva puts Vishnu into a hostel managed by a social worker, Lalitha.

By day, as an actor, Shiva is a dedicated bus conductor. By night, he transforms into the Hurricane Robin Hood. With the aid of his gang, he rolls rich men to fund the state pay. Using the money he stole, he helps Vishnu, the sports coach, and others who are struggling. He eventually falls in love with Lavanya only to find out she is related to Sundaramoorthy. She serves as a secret matchmaker, hiding her true feelings for Shiva, and finally sacrificing her own love to ensure that Lavanya marries him. Shiva and Lavanya end up married, and Thangam married to Vishnu, and they all lead a happy and fulfilling life thereafter.
