At Noorie’s grave, a depressed Daanish decides to end his life when he sees a car drive by. The car belongs to Noorie’s chess teacher Omkar, played by Amitabh Bachchan who tells him of his own daughter Nina’s death. He tells him that Nina used to teach chess to a minister Qureshi’s daughter Ruhi. One fateful day he gets the news that she has slipped and fallen off the stairs, resulting in her death. Omkar has a feeling it’s not an accident.

To uncover the truth behind Nina’s death, Daanish tries to meet Qureshi but is refused. Later he goes to Ruhi’s school to talk to her about the incident but Qureshi stops her and threatens Daanish with severe consequences. One of Qureshi’s henchmen, Wazir, played by Neil Nitin Mukesh is sent to attack Omkar and warns him and Daanish to not bother Qureshi.
