Synopsis

Badru, played by Gaurav Chanana is from Bhopal and loses his parents at a tender age and is taken under his wings by Ustad Samad Khan, played by Amrish Puri who is a legendary singer, but gave it up due to one incident of distracted audiences. Badru soon grows up and is attracted to Samad Khan’s daughter Reshma, played by Kanchi Kaul, who also likes him. They both aren’t able to confess their love to each other. One day a freelance photographer named Akhtar comes to Bhopal. Reshma falls for his charms. A heartbroken Badru is devastated. Badru wastes no time and asks Samad Khan his daughter’s hand in marriage. Samad is furious and rejects his proposal. The angry outburst makes Samad ill and he is hospitalized. Reshma raises funds for his treatment by winning a singing competition. Samad meanwhile is planning Reshma’s wedding to Nawab Ali’s son Basharat. On returning home he is shocked to learn that she has already rejected Basharat’s proposal. Barsharat being a Nawab’s son will not take rejection so kindly and plans to Reshma anyhow. The movie is directed by Kuku Kohli and produced by Vijaypath Singhania. The music is composed by Dilip Sen-Sameer Sen, Roopkumar Rathod and Sumeet Chopra. The cinematography is by Manmohan Singh.
