Aamir Khan Productions has officially announced a special re-release of the cult classic, the iconic film Lagaan on 12th, 13th and 14th June. The re-release will give the fans a chance to relive the magic of the epic sports drama on the big screen as well as for the new generation who may have not seen it 25 years ago. 


The grand return of Lagaan is in lieu of the celebrating the 25 glorious years of the film that had created history in the Indian cinema. 


New trailer revealed taking the audience back to emotional nostalgia. 


Along with the announcement of Lagaan re-release, is the new trailer being unveiled that takes the audience back to the unforgettable world of Champaner.  Packed with nostalgia and the emotions the viewers are going to be excited to see their most beloved films on big screens once again and revive the memories. 


Lagaan released in 2001 was directed by Ashutosh Gowariker and produced by Aamir Khan. Starring in the film are Aamir Khan, Gracy Singh, Rachel Shelley, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Raghubir Yadav and Paul Blackthorne.  


The film Lagaan is set in the 1893 British rule and the story is about the villagers of Champaner burdened with heavy taxes levied upon them. To get the freedom from the taxation there is a high-stake cricket match between the British Officers and the villagers.  The film became cinematic milestone and has earned a global recognition and won several awards including the Academy Award Nomination for Best Foreign Language Film.  


Lagaan inspired 25 years ago and still continues to inspire the audience worldwide, hence the re-release in the theatres promises a new wave of nostalgia for film buffs and movie lovers across all old and new generations.
