A Body Of Film And Television Directors Seek Chief Ministers Personal Intervention In Rohit Shetty House Firing Incident

Four rounds of firing outside filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s home in Mumbai Juhu on Sunday morning which has  shocked the film industry and the public. However, no injuries were reported.


The film and television directors have sought the CM’s personal intervention and a probe into the unidentified persons who opened fire at his multistorey residence in Juhu.  The Forensic team members have removed the shattered glass panes from the balcony of the film maker. 

Police have detained five individuals with the case on the firing outside the film maker Rohit Shetty’s residence, best known for his Cop Universe and Golmaal Films.


IFTDA has strongly condemned the firing incident. 


IFTDA, the Indian Film & Television Directors Association has written to DM Fadnavis, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra urging an immediate probe and his intervention.  The statement read that they are deeply shocked and concerned about their own safety and well being of one of the most respected and iconic filmmakers of the Indian entertainment industry.   


They further stated, such incidents instill fear and insecurity which is not acceptable as they appealed to the Honourable Chief Minister , as such incidents are grave and should not shake the morality and confidence of the entertainment industry.  They stated the film industry is confident that the efficient Mumbai Police will take swift and strict action , identify and book the culprits at the earliest to ensure protection to Mr. Rohit Shetty and his family.  The statement concluded . 


The firing outside filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s house, five persons have been detained. 


Later on Sunday, five suspects were detained in Pune in connection with the case which has been handed over to the Mumbai Crime Branch after the investigations that led to Members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang took the responsibility for the crime on the social media . The police is yet to state further comments.
