After casting his voice at the BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) Elections, actor Aamir Khan found himself in a conversation that sparked the moment with language row, of Marathi vs Hindi language debate.  He reacted by saying with a surprise , Yeh Maharashtra Hai Bhai’

The actor spoke to the photographers who had gathered outside the polling booth after he had cast his vote.  As he was speaking to them, he also praised the smooth polling arrangements and he delivered his message in Marathi which was taken aback by many.  While few of the media requested him to speak in Hindi, he asked Hindi mein? Yeh Maharashtra hai bhai !!!   he responded with a smile.  He was told by the media that the message would be aired in Delhi too ! the actor continued with an appeal that as public , everyone should come out and cast their valuable votes. 

The clip of Aamir Khan caught the attention on social media. 

One of the social media users wrote, while the actor was asked to speak in Hindi as he spoke in Marathi,  this moment reminded him of our contradictions about languages in India. 

Aamir who had addressed the audience in Marathi was asked to repeat his message in Hindi. This particular incident caught the attention of netizens . While some of them saw it as an irony of the situation as a citizen of Maharashtra was asked to repeat in Hindi, the others said Aamir Khan as a Bollywood actor should not hesitate to speak in Hindi and that there is nothing wrong in doing so.

He then spoke in Hindi as well and praised the BMC for the arrangements .  With the actors looked up to by the masses, every move of theirs gets noticed!  It’s best in the interest of the stars and their fans that the actors do oblige most of the time though this wasn’t a serious matter and just a message in the local language to suit one’s convenience or interest.
