Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par To Stream On YouTube From August 1, Skipping OTT Platforms

Aamir Khan and Genelia D’Souza starrer Sitaare Zameen Par, directed by RS Prasanna, is all set for its digital release on 1 August. The film is sequel to the 2007 classic Taare Zameen Par and will skip the usual OTT platforms.
It is expected to stream directly on YouTube soon after its cinema run.
Aamir Khan opts for ₹100 YouTube release to reach wider audience globally
At a press conference held in Mumbai on Tuesday, Aamir Khan announced that Sitaare Zameen Par will not be released on any OTT platform. Always one to do things differently, Aamir Khan is taking a bold new route with Sitaare Zameen Par. The film will be digitally released on YouTube, where viewers in India can rent it for just ₹100.
International fans of Aamir will also be able to stream the film in countries like USA, Canada, UK, Australia, Germany, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, and Spain, with region-specific pricing. To ensure wider reach, the digital release includes subtitles and select dubbed versions.
During the press conference, Aamir also said, 'For years, I’ve been trying to reach audiences who couldn’t access theatres. With UPI, growing internet reach, and YouTube’s widespread presence, we finally have the tools to do it'.
What’s next for Aamir Khan?
Sitaare Zameen Par earned ₹267 crore worldwide on a budget of ₹90 crore under Aamir Khan Productions. The film revolved around a basketball coach mentoring a team of specially challenged players.
Aamir is now working on Lahore 1947, starring Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta. He will also be seen in a cameo in Rajinikanth’s Coolie, which is set to release on Independence Day 2025.
