The much-loved duo Abir Chatterjee and Jaya Ahsan are returning to the big screen with the film adaptation of Manik Banerjee’s classic novel 'Putul Nacher Itikatha'. Directed by Suman Mukherjee, the film promises a deeply emotional narrative revolving around three key characters – Kusum, Shashi, and Kumud.
The recently released trailer opens with Ananya Chatterjee, her face marked with scars, hinting at a painful past. It quickly moves into glimpses of friendship between Abir and Parambrata, heartbreaks, and an intense romantic track between Abir and Jaya.
Abir plays Shashi, a village doctor burdened by his unrealized dream of practicing abroad. His routine life is shaken with the entry of Kusum and Kumud, played by Jaya and Parambrata. The film captures the beauty and melancholy of rural Bengal while diving deep into how human lives are guided by destiny.
Along with the lead trio, the cast also features Dhritiman Chatterjee, Shantilal Mukherjee, and Surangana Banerjee. 'Putul Nacher Itikatha' is set to release in cinemas on August 1.
