Actress Shilpa Shinde had admitted the allegations she had made on sexual harassment nearly nine years ago against the producer of Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain were false. Her shocking confessions has triggered of a widespread outrage across the entertainment industry among the All-India Cine Workers Association (AICWA) who have strong condemned her statement and have demanded a strict legal action. 

When the allegations were fake came to light, AICWA have expressed their deep concern over the impact of a false allegations., stating that such accusations can destroy a person’s reputation, mental health, family life and his career permanently.  The association emphasised further that fake complaints not only harm the accused but also weakens the credibility of genuine victims who come forward seeking justice in harassment cases.

The organization appealed to Devendra Fadnavis to ensure that a fair investigation in the matter be conduction and AICWA stated if it’s proven that the allegations were intentionally fabricated, strict action need to be taken according to the law against the actress Shilpa Shinde. The association stressed on the fact that its accountability is necessary to protect the innocent individuals while they safeguard the voice of the genuine survivors.  

The controversy erupted after Shilpa Shinde appeared on the show with comedian Bharati Singh 

On the podcast with Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa, Shilpa openly admitted that she had filed a complaint because she had no other option. She claimed that the police had advised her to include serious allegations in order to register an FIR and revealed that it was later and eventually settled amicably and privately. 

The confession by the actress has sparked intense backlash online with many from the film industry questioning the consequences of the false allegations and the long-term damage on the individual. The debate also reignited about the importance of supporting genuine victims while all parties should ensure of fair justice for all those involved.
