The teaser which coincided with Jha’s birthday marked a special milestone for the filmmaker and the growing franchise.
Directed by Anshuman Jha, the film will continue the story of the Kolkata based animal loving vigilante Arjun Bakshi who travels into the forests of West Java in Indonesia to fight the wildlife trafficking and to protect the voiceless animals. The sequel revolves around the endangered Celebes crested macaque that is known in the North as Yaki Monkey, which brings its attention to the wildlife conservation.
About the Sequel Lakadbaggha 2: The Monkey Business
The film is going to be expanded beyond India as it bends hand to hand as it will combat with a strong message related to the strong environmental combat building on the spirit of the first film Lakadbaggha. The cast includes Sarah Jane Dias, Adil Hussain, Vikram Kochhar and Sunny Pang, the martial arts star and Dan Chupong who is known for his global action talent.
Sharing his thoughts on the sequel, Jha revealed that the film is inspired by Hanuman the Hindu God who symbolizes on strength, courage and service. Anshuman Jha described the sequel not just as a continuation of the story but its also a tribute to the extraordinary animals that share the planet with us.
The film is expected to have a very high-profile festival theatrical run from June to November, ahead of its global release to set the momentum before it hits the theatres worldwide during Diwali 2026.
