After months of gruelling cricket practice sessions, Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma has started filming for her upcoming film Chakda Xpress. The film is a biopic of former Indian women’s cricket team captain Jhulan Goswami and traces the hardships she endured to fulfil a middle class girl’s dream of becoming a cricketer despite the misogynistic politics coming in her way.

Anushka will be making her acting comeback after nearly 4 years. Her last release was Zero opposite Shah rukh Khan. Sharing a small boomerang video of her vanity van and come pictures from the film’s set on her social media page, Anushka wrote, “Back to where I belong... #ChakdaXpress #ShootBegins #ChakdaXpressDay1.” Chakda Xpress is directed by Prosit Roy and produced by lead actress Anushka along with brother Karnesh Sharma. The film will stream on a major OTT platform.
