'Bala' In Legal Trouble Over Plagiarism

The Amar Kaushik directorial Bala is in legal trouble after assistant director Kamal Kant Chandra has filed a criminal case against its lead actor Ayushmann Khurrana and the director and producer Dinesh Vijan, for lifting the central plot of the film from his project ‘Wig’. A case has been filed in the Bombay High Court under section 420 (cheating) and section 406 (breach of trust).

During the last court hearing the trio lied saying that the movie was still in its scripting stage. Also Kamal Kant Chandra has stated that the makers have begun the movie’s shooting with the court giving its verdict which is wrong. They might finish a considerable amount of the film by the time the next hearing date comes. Ayushmann Khurrana’s legal team however has confirmed that theirs is an original script and it be proved when time comes. The court however has not restrained them commencing shoot or given relief to the plaintiff. The actor will next be seen in the movie Dream Girl.
