Disco King of Bollywood Bappi Lahiri bid goodbye to the world on 16th February but he lives on through his music and voice. His journey to stardom is one that has been an inspiration to many. Several filmmakers were keen to make his biopic while the singer was still alive but the final decision was pending and things thus never moved forward.

In an earlier interview, Bappi Da, as he was lovingly called, expressed his desire that actor Ranveer Singh should play his younger self, if his biopic is ever made. The Gully Boy actor was thrilled to hear this and said he has been Bappi Da’s fan since a very young age. The actor even presented the ‘Ooh La La’ singer a special tribute at the 63rd Filmfare Awards. Bappi Da was known for his memorable songs in superhit Bollywood films like ‘Namak Halaal’, ‘Disco Dancer’ and ‘Dance Dance’.
