Satabdi Roy's Shooting In Mukutmanipur In 1998

It was 1998. The shooting of director Harnath Chakraborty's film 'Raja Rani Badsha' was going on in Mukutmanipur, Bankura. Shtabdi Roy was playing the lead role in that film. Although the film later became a box office hit, the actress had to endure numerous hardships during the shooting.

Satabdi Used To Get Burnt In The Intense Heat During The Shooting

Satabdi said that it was extremely hot during the shooting. In Mukutmanipur, there was no way to run AC at that time due to low-voltage problems. She says, “It was so hot that my dog could not stand on the streets. And I was dancing there in front of the camera.” When she told them the problem, the director and producer came up with a strange solution.

A Bucket Of Ice Daily For Satabdi's Bath

To solve the situation, ice cubes were brought from outside. That ice was kept in a bucket. Satabdi says, “I used to bathe with that ice water. That water was my alternative to AC.” The ice water bath gave her some relief, so she would be ready to take the next shot.

Memories Of Pain Turned Into The Joy Of Success

Satabdi said that the pain she experienced during the shooting had faded after its release. The film became a superhit, and that pain turned into joy. She now says, “Today, those days are just happy memories for me.''
