CM Uddhav Thackeray Announces 28 Crore Relief Package For Film And Other Industry Artists All Over Maharashtra

The last one and a half year has been burdensome for various businesses and creative artists in the country due to the COVID-19 pandemic crisis. The film, theatre and other entertainment sections have suffered the worst hit as their entire business runs on the fact that audiences come to watch them. With no people to watch, no demand for their work and strict covid Regulations, small time artists workers as well as theater and such business owners have been suffering innumerable losses. To reduce their burden to an extent the government has taken some helpful steps. Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has announced a rupees 28 crore relief package for 56,000 of these small time artists and workers. Each artist from places like Mumbai Suburbs, Pune, Thane and the surrounding areas will receive a amount of Rs 5000 each. 

 

The Maharashtra cabinet meeting that took place recently, made the decision of giving out relief compensation amount to the hard hit small artists belonging to various art forms like theatre, circus, drama, films, Television,etc. The minister that were present during the cabinet meeting included Amit Deshmukh, Sitaram Kunte, Ashishkumar Sigh, Vikas Kharge and Manisha Verma. These ministers from various jurisdictions jointly took the decision. This step will give some relief and hope to the out of job and suffering hard working artists whose sole earnings come from the entertainment business.
