'Dacoit Putlibai' Biopic To Be Directed By Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra

After Mere Pyare Prime Minister, director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra has already zeroed in on his next subject. It will be that of a Chambal dacoit called Putlibai. The transformation of a graceful dancer into a deadly dacoit to avenge the murder of her lover. The girl who was born into a poor family of Chambal, merely danced to feed her family and there she met Sultana Daku who was brutally killed by the cops.

 

Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra has already registered the title of his movie with the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPPA). The director is reportedly also working on three other scripts. He will next direct Farhan Akhtar and Isha Talwar in the sports drama Toofan to release in 2020.
