Actor singer Diljit Dosanjh officially confirmed the collaboration with film maker Imtiaz Ali . He shared the new behind the scenes vlog and the ongoing shooting of the film in Punjab. The actor shared a few glimpses of his daily routine as well and subtly revealed that the duo are back together after the successful film Amar Singh Chamkila.

The actor stated he starts his day at 4.30 am followed by a quick workout session. Then it’s his breakfast time and he loves to have fruits and proteins before he heads out for the day for the shoots with his team. He also shared a short screen with him interacting with the filmmaker Imtiaz Ali and confirmed the project that he is a part of the untitled new project and that the actor is currently shooting at a picturesque haveli.

Amar Singh Chamkila was based on the life of the legendary and controversial Punjabi musician Chamkila , which Diljit starred opposite Parineeti Chopra as Chamkila’s wife Amarjot. Chamkila often is known as Elvis of Punjab as he has an electrifying stage presence with his bold lyrics and has a massive cultural impact on his fans. The film is also on his assassination along with his wife Amarjot which till date is one of the biggest tragedies in the music industry of Punjab.

Amar Singh Chamkila earned two nominations at the International Emmy Awards for Best Actor for Diljit Dosanjh and for the Best Television Movie in Mini series. Although the film had not got a big win but the movie had got recognition and had placed the Punjabi and Indian story telling on the global map. It also referred the story as a timeless legacy of Chamkila’s music , hence had a growing demand internationally for the culturally rooted narrative.

Diljit Dosanjh’s upcoming film

Actor Diljit Dosanjh will be seen in an intense and heroic avatar in Border 2. The much-awaited sequel of J.P.Dutta’s 1997 classic is directed by Anura Singh and the film will also have Varun Dhawan starring alongside with Diljit , Ahan Shetty in pivotal roles. The trio will be portraying the soldiers brave and courageous protecting the nation. The movie will have a fresh dimension to the franchise of military canvas . The film production is backed by T.Series and J. P Films and promises a high scale action film with the right emotional depth of patriotism aimed for the new generation audience.

Border 2 is slated for its release in the theatres on January 23rd, 2026.
