Our Indian history is rich with content that filmmakers are using as a subject of their projects since decades. One topic among them is the 1984 anti-Sikh riots that shook our nation. Casting director turned full-time Filmmaker Honey Trehan whose last outing was the Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Raat Akeli Hai, is now coming up with a film on it. His film will star Diljit Dosanjh and Arjun Rampal in the lead.

Diljit will play the role of an activist in the untitled human drama, while not much is revealed about Arjun’s character. The film is currently being shot in real locations in Amritsar, Punjab. The film’s story revolves around an activist who uncovers disturbing truths about the riots, mass killings and fights tooth and nail for the victims rights to get them to justice.

The Diljit-Arjun starrer film is jointly produced by Ronnie Screwvala of RSVP Movies, Honey Trehan and Abhishek Chaubey’s banner, MacGuffin Picture.
