Fatima Sana Shaikh Admires Alia Bhatt And Kangana Ranauts Achievements In Female Oriented Films

Bollywood actress Fatima Sana Shaikh recently opened up about her admiration for Alia Bhatt and Kangana Ranaut's success in the niche of female-centric movies. In a conversation with India Today, she expressed her wonder at the stardom achieved by these female leads and confessed that she is still yet to figure out what it takes to attain and sustain such fame.
During the interview, Fatima highlighted the commercial appeal of Alia Bhatt and Kangana Ranaut, as their names draw large audiences to theatres. "I don't know what it takes to achieve that stardom," she mentioned when discussing the accomplishments of both actors. This statement comes after Alia Bhatt received her Best Actress award at the 69th National Film Awards ceremony in New Delhi on October 17, where she was accompanied by her actor-husband, Ranbir Kapoor.
Additionally, Fatima shared her thoughts on the long-lasting stardom of the Khans – Aamir, Shah Rukh, and Salman. She commented on how rare it is for actors in the film industry to maintain such a level of success over the decades. In her words, "It's very rare now these Khans are still able to sustain that (stardom), otherwise, it's still box office to box office for a lot of actors, even at that stage. There are very few actors who can still pull that audience irrespective of money."
Fatima Sana Shaikh was recently seen on screen in Dhak Dhak, alongside Ratna Pathak Shah, Dia Mirza, and Sanjana Sanghi. The movie hit theatres on October 13. Fans can look forward to Fatima's next role as former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in Sam Bahadur. Last week, the teaser of the movie was released. The star-studded cast, featuring Vicky Kaushal, Sanya Malhotra, and Fatima Sana Shaikh, along with the director Meghna Gulzar, attended the teaser launch event in Mumbai.
In a recent interview, Fatima Sana Shaikh shared her thoughts on the reactions to "Sam Bahadur" and acknowledged that comparisons with Kangana Ranaut are unavoidable. Kangana Ranaut will also appear in the upcoming movie "Emergency," portraying India's former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
Fatima said, “How can I compare our performance? She is performing differently and I'm doing mine. Probably, I would have done things differently if I had been doing her role, I don’t know.”
She further stated, “If two actors are playing the same character then people are bound to compare and there’s nothing wrong in it. Both approaches can be right. It’s all about the spirit of the character.”
