Due to various health issues, film producer Nazim Hassan Rizvi passed away late on Monday in a Mumbai hospital. According to the news agency IANS (Indo Asian News Service), he was admitted to the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Andheri, Mumbai, for unspecified conditions. The remains of Rizvi were transported by air to his native Uttar Pradesh, where his final rites will be performed.

Rizi is best known for producing the Abbas-Mustan-directed film Chori Chori Chupke Chupke, which starred Salman Khan, Rani Mukerji, and Preity Zinta. Majboor Ladki, Apaatkaal, Angaar Vadee, Undertrial, for which he also wrote the screenplay, and Hello Hum Lallan Bol Rahe Hain are among his other Bollywood films as producers.

In the Marathi film Laden Aala Re Aala, Rizi also tried his hand at directing. He also wrote the script and was the movie's producer and writer. Saksham Kulkarni and Vijay Patkar star in it. He only contributed as a writer to the Bollywood film Qasam Se Qasam Se.
