Film Producers Body Warns Influencers Over Negative Reviews

The Indian Film and Television Producers Council (IFTPC) has issued a strong warning to social media influencers allegedly posting negative film reviews with the intention of sabotaging movies.

The council, representing over 375 leading film and television producers in India, condemned the practice and termed it an act of extortion that damages the credibility of the Indian film industry.

According to the IFTPC, several actors and directors have raised concerns that certain influencers are using their platforms to spread negativity and manipulate audience perceptions for personal gain. This, they claim, has made it increasingly difficult to maintain transparency and trust within the industry.

Film body vows to safeguard industry credibility

In an official statement, the producers’ body confirmed that they are seeking legal advice to explore remedies under both civil and criminal laws. The council aims to curb this growing menace of negative publicity and extortion through strict legal measures.

The IFTPC reiterated its commitment to protecting the creative ecosystem and ensuring fair practices, warning that anyone found engaging in such unethical activities would face legal consequences.
