Authorities have allegedly booked filmmaker Manish Gupta for stabbing his driver with a kitchen knife during a salary dispute at his Versova residence. He has faced the charges under sections 118(2), 115(2), and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

The Mumbai police have charged the filmmaker Manish Gupta with assaulting his driver with a kitchen knife after they had argued over his unpaid salary.

Details About The Allegations Against Manish Gupta

As per some reports, the incident occurred at Gupta’s residence located in Versova’s Sagar Sanjog building on Thursday night.

 An official from the Versova Police Station has claimed that the director assaulted his longtime driver, Rajibul Islam Lashkar, during a fiery argument. The filmmaker Manisha Gupta has faced alleged charges under sections 118(2), 115(2), and 352 of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita. These sections deal with assault, provocation to breach peace, and voluntarily causing harm with dangerous weapons.

No arrests have been made yet. However, the driver’s advocate, Ali Kaashif Khan Deshmukh, demands Manish Gupta’s immediate arrest. A Free Press Journal report states the FIR revealed that Manish Gupta had employed Rajibul for three years. He had paid him twenty thousand rupees on a monthly basis. The dispute escalated because Gupta frequently delayed Rajibul's salaries.
