Filmmaker Mukesh Modi Expresses Disappointment With Censor Board For Movie Political War Appeals To PM Modi

The filmmaker of the upcoming Bollywood movie Political War, Mukesh Modi, is not happy with the Censor Board. Due to the refusal of a censor certificate, the movie is unable to release in theatres. Mukesh Modi has been in India for the past three months to get the movie censored, but it was ultimately rejected by the revising committee on December 22, 2023.

Mukesh Modi shares his frustration on Censor Baords Decision:

According to Mukesh Modi, the initial title of the movie was '2024 Election War,' but it was objected to, and later, they changed it to 'Political War.' However, even after submitting the movie to the reviewing committee without a show-cause notice, it was rejected. The reason given was that the faces of the movie's actors resembled Indian politicians. Mukesh Modi expressed his frustration, stating that due to the lack of a censor certificate, his movie won't be able to be released in theatres.

Narendra Modi Appeals PM Modi:

He appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that there is no value in the time of filmmakers like him, and the response from the Censor Board officials is unsatisfactory. He urged the Prime Minister to appoint qualified people to the Censor Board and improve the system, as it wastes a lot of time and money for filmmakers.

Mukesh Modi Shares Importance Of Political War:

Mukesh Modi highlighted that his movie aims to inspire the youth, and the government should pay attention to it. He also shared the inconsistency in the Censor Board's decisions, approving violent movies while cancelling the release of a movie with a positive message. The filmmaker also expressed concern about the damage caused to his movie due to the censorship process. Despite the challenges, he affirmed that the content of the movie is excellent and conveys a message about corrupt politicians attempting to damage India.

Mukesh Modi concluded by stating that the movie will be released out of India in theatres on February 16 and after that, it will be released on OTT platforms. He suggested that the Censor Board should be cancelled, mentioning the absence of such a board in Hollywood. The movie, produced under the banner of Indie Films World, was shot in Mumbai, Varanasi, Lucknow, and the United States.
