The glorious fashion was a madness in the 1990’s with the Neon Cords, metallic fabrics to sunglasses and printed shirts before they became obsessed with airport minimalism.  But people remember these Bollywood actors without any fear of judgement.

With the film Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai is tapping into the spirit of the old school of thoughts where Bollywood entertainers are concerned. Pooja Hegde found herself visiting the 1990 era’s most iconic fashion moments and she clearly had strong opinions about it.

About Salman Khan’s legendary scarf era that immortalised the songs, with beach sequences and slow-motion swagger, Pooja expressed nobody can look subtle1 and yet dramatic and colourful completely committed to the zany world.

Salman Khan’s iconic song Chunari Chunair has been paid homage in the film.

Karisma Kapoor and Govinda has a strong fan base within the film industry!

If there is one Bollywood fashion queen Pooja Hegde seems genuinely fascinated is, its Karisma Kapoor.   She gushed, Karishma can carry off herself in bright orange tops with a neon green pants and yet look stunning and amazing. The confidence of her styling speaks and today people would overthink on those looks but those days actors in the 1990’s wore everything with full conviction says Pooja.

Govinda is also one of the most undisputed king of the fearless Bollywood fashions. He wore the oversized printed shirts, checkered or purple on yellow combinations or patters that would never coexist yet he was known for his legendary wardrobe choice.  Govinda’s fashion never went out of style and was complete madness yet unforgettable and the fans have found joy in just watching their favourite dancing star wear some of the jazziest outfits and nobody cared his looks as much as they loved him on the screen! grinned Pooja.

That is one of the real reasons too that 1990’s Bollywood aesthetics remain nostalgic and the fashion wasn’t trying to appear curated as it is now it existed along with the entertainment on screen.
