Kaanta Laga Girl  Shefali Jariwala Dies At 42 After Sudden Cardiac Arrest

 Artist Shefali Jariwala who rocketed to fame for her legendary turns as ‘Baba’ in the 2002 killer blockbuster Kaanta Laga died at 42 years old on the night of June 27th late in Mumbai.

The actress was said to have experienced a cardiac arrest at home and was taken to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital in Andheri by husband. Actor Parag Tyagi, and family friends. Tragically, she arrived DOA dead on arrival.

Jariwala shot to notoriety in the early 2000s, becoming the icon of the remix music generation, eventually making her way into reality shows like Bigg Boss 13 and Nach Baliye, Kabhi Aar Kabhi Paar and Maahi Ve (from the film Kaante).

She also had a cameo role in the 2004 Bollywood film Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, starring Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar. Shefali Jariwala was a national treasure both because of her captivating screen presence and because of her candor about her own struggles  including her battle with epilepsy starting at age 15.

Police have said it will be up to the Cooper Hospital postmortem to confirm the exact cause of death. Her sudden death has left many in the entertainment fraternity shocked and shaken, and celebrities including Mika Singh and Aly Goni are mourning her loss.
