While backing the request of the actress Deepika Padukone, the director said, ‘It’s a fair point. Aamir Khan works on an eight-hour shift. So I don’t see why Deepika Padukone should be denied the same. It is that simple. ‘
Also, the director rejected the notion that productivity should never come at the cost of personal sacrifice; he said, ‘I have never shot beyond twelve hours per day, never done overtime, and never worked on Sundays. These are some of the basic and reasonable rules.’
