Late Lata Mangeshkar To Have A Music Academy, State Award In Her Name By The Madhya Pradesh Government

Legendary Bollywood singer Lata Mangeshkar might have left the world for her heavenly abode on 6th February, but she lives on in the hearts of her fans through her songs. In memory of the Indore born singer, the Madhya Pradesh government has now decided to set up a music academy as well as a museum dedicated to her at her birth place. Not just that, a state award in her name and a statue in her memory will be installed in Indore.
The state award will be given to aspiring artists for their contribution in music on the occasion of Lata Didi’s birth anniversary on 28th September. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan added, “She (Lata Mangeshkar) is the daughter of Madhya Pradesh and we all are proud of her. She will always remain amid us with her melodious songs. The Madhya Pradesh government has decided to set up a college after Lata Mangeshkar, besides a museum and a musical academy in her birth place in Indore.”
The Ajeeb Dastaan singer has left a rich legacy in music and her evergreen songs will forever be etched in every Indian’s memory. Lata Mangeshkar died on the morning of 6th February in Breach Candy Hospital Mumbai, following a multiple organ failure.
