Liberty Cinema Owner Nazir Hoosein Passes Away

Nazir Hoosein, the owner of Liberty Cinema at Marine Lines and Motorsport administrator passed away on Sunday night at the age of 78. Nazir was long suffering from COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease). His cremation will be held today at Chandanwadi at 9:30 a.m. He is survived by his wife Mrunal Gole and daughter Aranka who studies in the US.
Nazir Hoosein has also been a former VP of the Federation Internationale de Automobile (FIA) and president of the FMSCI (Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India. was also the head of the Motorsport Association of India, former FMSCI president, and served as vice president of the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) in the past. He also served as a chief steward in the World Rally Championship (WRC), was a steward at Formula 1 races, and was a member of the World Motor Sport Council. Liberty Cinema is a historic place for Indian’s as it was founded during India’s Independence in 1947. The theatre owner has been commended for showcasing Kashish, the LGBTQ film festival at the Cinema theatre.
