Massive Fire Breaks Out At Macneil Studio, Tollywood Suffers Major Losses

Tollywood suffered a major scare as a fire broke out at Macneil Studio in Bishnupur, located in the South 24 Parganas district. The blaze started after dusk and quickly engulfed part of the studio premises.

The fire brigade rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control, but not before some damage was done.

Abandoned set catches fire, panic spreads among TV crew

At the time, shooting for Star Jalsha’s popular serial 'Bullet Sarojini' was underway at the studio. Fortunately, the floor where the serial was being filmed did not catch fire. The blaze reportedly broke out on an adjacent floor, which previously hosted the now-concluded serial 'Dui Shalik'. That particular set had been lying unused for some time.

Initial investigations suggest the fire started due to a short circuit. Luckily, the unit of 'Bullet Sarojini' had completed shooting for the day and most of the crew had left the premises. A few unit members were still present but escaped unharmed.

Tollywood studio fire causes panic, sparks safety concerns

The incident has triggered fear and concern among the cast and crew, especially since 'Bullet Sarojini' is expected to end next month. The fire has raised questions about safety standards in Tollywood’s studio spaces and may impact ongoing schedules temporarily.
