Before Masaba became a fashion designer, she had a dream of being a Bollywood heroine revealed her mother, Neena Gupta. Masaba Gupta the daughter of Neena Gupta and the Cricket legend Viv Richards has established herself as one of the leading fashion designers in India. Masaba did try her in acting as well starring in the film Masaba Masaba .  Neena had revealed when her daughter was young, she was keen on becoming a heroine of Bollywood in a traditional Hindi film, however, she was given a reality check.

The veteran actress recalled,  Masaba wanted to be an actress and become a leading star in Bollywood films , saying that the influence around her everyone encouraged her but she as her mother had discouraged her as she felt that her face , her body is not one like a heroine should and to face the reality, and that she didn’t have the typical heroine look.  She encouraged her to get into the character roles. 

The fashion designer Masaba made her acting debut in the Netflix show Masaba Masaba where she plays herself in a fictionalized version . A good actress and natural . She went on tot appear in one of the segments on Amazon Prime Video’s anthology film, Modern Love: Mumbai .  Last year she had also appeared in a dance number in Kesari Chapter 2 .  As Neena said her daughter is extremely talented and great at acting but would prefer her to take up her career in fashion designing forward which she is doing good. 

Neena Gupta meanwhile is all set to star alongside Sanjay Mishra in Vadh 2, a crime thriller releasing on February 6th 2026.
