52 Blue is helmed by the acclaimed Egyptian filmmaker, Ali El Arabi . The coming of age drama follows the journey of a young Indian football enthusiast who migrates to Qatar for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The core story explores the identity, the resilience and the resilience and the relentless pursuit towards one’s dreams all woven into an intimate family storytelling.

Neha portrays the mother of a teenage boy whose character is what anchors the film’s narrative with an emotional depth. 52 Blue is shot extensively in Kochi as the narrative follows Ashish the young boy who is raised under this strict control of his father in a remote island.  He is supported by his mother’s unwavering faith in him . She is inspired by the memory of his late brother and the son eventually breaks free from the confined world that leads him to cross the borders was he chases his dreams of meeting his idol, Lionel Messi. At the World Cup, it marks his first encounter with the vast and the world beyond from his sheltered upbringing.  


Neha Dhupia describes her role as deeply moving and liberating and first of its kind that she is as she reflected on the role she is playing, it allowed her to fully immerse in the character’s emotional reality.
