Set in the backdrop of Banaras, Agam depicts three different tales sewn into one thought provoking film. The first story is ‘Manikarnika’- where life and death coexist on the banks of holy river Ganga. The second is ‘Yatra’- story of a traveler who has broken the shackles of God head and the Math. Third is Deh-Tantra- the tale of uncontrived love and attraction between a man and woman. The three stories are beautifully woven together and show how man tries to find a balance between his life on earth and his spiritual longings.

Agam is directed by award winning filmmaker Sumit Mishra. He has previously dabbled in painting, literature as well as art direction on the big screens. Talking about the film he said, “I have seen Banaras very closely. Three things which I found interesting in this mystically mesmerising city is Shiv (religion), Shav (corpse) and Tantra(Occult). All three stories depict three different perspective and psychologies hence importance given to different colors in each stories. Banaras in all its modernity still has retained the mythological essence, the richness and flavour of its rituals and daily chores. Each frame portrays one aspect of these in the foreground. Each frame is presented as an old painting of Banaras which enhances the visuals. Kabir's nirgun and thumris are the heart of spirituality and music of Banaras. It is kept in original so that Banaras is established by way of sound and music too with shehnai, damru, sarangi, mridang mostly used as instruments.”

Agam stars Tara Alisha Berry, Anastasiia Kelly, Rahul Bagga, Jay Prakash Yadav and Ashmith Kunder.  It is produced under the banner of Deepak Kumar Films Pvt Ltd. The makers are yet to announce the film’s release date.
