Pankaj Kapur Turns Novelist

The veteran actor Pankaj Kapur, whose play Dopehri has been enthralling viewers for the longest time will be publishing it into a novel very soon. The publishing house Harper Collins will publish the book in Hindi and English. According to the Shandaar actor, his wife Supriya Pathak is the one who pushed him to publish his work into a novel and did the ground work on the entire publishing process.

 

Having performed the popular play for over 3 years now, the story of it revolves around an elderly woman who lives alone in a haveli in Lucknow. With lots of humor and wit, the story also reveals the different people who enter her life and her relationship with them.

 

On the Bollywood front, Pankaj Kapur has previously directed

the 2011 released movie Mausam starring his son Shahid Kapur and Sonam Kapoor, and also the TV show Mohandas BA LLB. The actor is hopeful that someday Dopehri might be adapted into a full fledged Bollywood film some day.
