Pankaj Tripathi Has Another Actor In The Family – His Daughter Aashi

A proud father, Pankaj Tripathi watching his daughter Aashi make her stage debut with the play Lailaaj last month in Mumbai felt she is sharper and better than him.

Pankaj Tripathi has another actor in his family now, his daughter Aashi who did her debut on stage with the play Lailaaj last month. The veteran actor opened up after seeing his daughter on stage ,swelled with pride he said he feels about this daughter taking up acting as a career.

Aashi’s debut performance on stage, Lailaaj has been produced by Pankaj Tripathi and wife Mridula Tripathi under their own banner, Roopkatha Rangmanch, Lailaaj also happens to be their first play. The first show was staged in November 2025 in Mumbai and had received applauds for Aashi’s performance. The actor said he watched the play not as her father but as an actor himself and said by the third show that she performed she was very good, sharper than he was . Pankaj Tripathi went on to say his teachers used to explain all these things it would take probably one or two years to adopt to the style of acting but his daughter Aashi had achieved that miracle in just three shows. He admitted the new generation is a lot sharper and more advanced in their thinking that helps them to give their best and that the problems they do face can be a lot more.

Pankaj Tripathi said as of now Aashi hasn’t really decided if she wants to pursue an acting as a career. He is in full support of her decision and the choice she makes . As an actor he expressed, he knows the difficulties that lie in an acting as a career and he will give her the freedom to do it her own way. He also said , this freedom should be given to all kids. Advise them what to do and what they want to do and even if they fail its fine the are learning and it no big deal.

Pankaj Tripathi was last seen Anurag Basu’s romantic drama , Metro ….In Dino opposite Konkana Sen Sharma . He is currently working on two projects, such as Mirzapur and Parivarak Manuranjan opposite Aditi Rao Hydari. Both releases scheduled for 2026.
