Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the first World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) on Thursday. It's a four-day event that will unite the media and entertainment industry. The summit aims to connect the emerging and the traditional media. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be interacting with the local as well as the global creators. The Creatosphere will feature some carefully curated zones from VR(Virtual Reality), animation, films, comics, games and VFX.


Bharat Pavilion - A Tribute To The Nation's Legacy


Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also be unveiling the 'Bharat Pavilion,' which will be a vibrant and heartfelt tribute to the nation’s profound legacy in terms of storytelling. It will be based on the theme 'Kala To Code.'


WAVES Awards


The first edition of the WAVES Awards to the winners of the thirty-two challenges announced in the run-up to the summit. The summit's opening will commence with a panel discussion titled, 'Legends and Legacies: The Stories That Shaped India's Soul.' The panel will feature Mithun Chakraborty, Hema Malini, Rajinikanth, Mohanlal, and Chiranjeevi. Moreover, the session will be moderated by Akshay Kumar.




There will also be a panel discussion titled 'The New Mainstream: Breaking Borders, Building Legends,' It will include various professionals such as S S Rajamouli, Alia Bhatt, Anil Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal and A R  Rahman. This session will be moderated by Karan Johar.


Key agenda issues include broadcasting regulation in the digital age. Another issue is the role of artificial intelligence in media. Copyright for content creators and audio-visual performers is also on the agenda. Finally, the evolution of the AVGC-XR sector will be discussed. AVGC-XR stands for Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics, and Extended Reality.
