Actress Radhika Apt following a temporary break after her child birth described the surge of deeply disturbing violence in the films and said a concern that the depth of the narratives in the filmmaking is shocking losing its value over storytelling. She said that if violence is entertainment than she doesn’t want to bring up a child in this world where violence is considered as entertainment.


The actress criticized the film industry’s tendency to equate shock in their stories like a man chopping off people . She said that is not storytelling like harming other people so cruelly it’s not a story that is meant for the society. This surely effects the society at large and she finds it extremely upsetting , if that’s what sells.

Post pandemic her comments can be resonated with many and the audience too and it’s the responsibility of the filmmaker to balance the narrative depth on screen.
