Randeep Hooda Shares His Unbelievable First Look In And As ‘Swatantra Veer Savarkar’

Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda has always risen to the occasion when playing mighty realistic roles. Be it as Sarbjit, Battle of Saragarhi or Main Aur Charles, he has portrayed them with elan and grace. The Highway actor is now all set to play the lead in the upcoming biopic ‘Swatantra Veer Savarkar’. The film is based on the freedom fighter Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, his life and his active involvement in the Quit India movement against the British. 

Sharing his very first look from Swatantra Veer Savarkar, on the visionary’s 139th birth anniversary, lead actor Randeep captioned it, “This is a salute to one of the tallest unsung heroes of India’s struggle for freedom and self-actualisation. I hope I can live up to the challenge of filling such big shoes of a true revolutionary and tell his real story which had been brushed under the carpet for so long.. Wishing you all a very Happy #VeerSavarkarJayanti!” 

Talking about the film, it’s director Mahesh Manjrekar said, “People may have different versions in their mind for Savarkar but as a filmmaker, I’m trying to match the same thought which Savarkar had. So, the character of Savarkar in the film will not have any difference from what Savarkar was in real life. He was the iconic freedom fighter and we'll ensure that he's never forgotten ever by any Indian.” Swatantra Veer Savarkar os all set to go on floors in August 2022.
