At 45, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, admitted that being in front of the camera for the Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives gave her the confidence of being comfortable front of the camera.

Daughter of veteran and legendary actors, Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh , Riddhima is set to step into the spotlight with her acting debut in the upcoming film Daadi Ki Shaadi.  With this, Riddhima would be making her the oldest debutant in the Kapoor family. It’s indeed an emotional moment for her as she shares her screen space with her famous mother Neetu Singh and with her daughter Samara for the very first time in the film. 

Riddhima opens about her late debut in films. 

Riddhima recently opened up about her late entry into Bollywood unlike her family who have been in the film industry long before. Riddhima is married to a businessman Bharat Sahni with whom she has a daughter samara. Samara will also make her debut with brief appearance in the film. 

Riddhima expressed it truly made her feel surreal and deeply emotional and that it made sense of everything coming full circle.   She was emotional recalling her father’s blessing her in everything she and anything she chooses to do. The thought itself gives strength and comfort. The biggest challenge is stepping into an entirely new world for her at this stage of life.   She says there is a certain amount of vulnerability as well as lot of excitement at the same time says Riddhima. 

The film is special on-screen moment for Riddhima as she shares the screen space with her mother Neetu Singh and daughter Samara in a song sequence.

Samara has been comfortable with the paparazzi while Riddhima wonders if her daughter’s appearance will translate her into a full-time acting career in future following her genes and her legacy.  But for now, it is indeed a proud moment for Riddhima to see her young daughter for whom it’s an emotional moment to see your own child come on the screen for the first time. 

For Riddhima this would be the second time front of the camera though the film is her debut she was roped in earlier by producer Karan Johar for his popular reality show Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives in 2024.  Riddhima admitted being in front of the camera gave her a sense of ease and familiarity which definitely made the debut smoother for her. 

About the film Daadi Ki Shaadi. 

Daadi Ki Shaadi is directed by Ashish R Mohan. Starring alongside Neetu Singh, Riddhima, Samara, are Kapil Sharma, Sadia Khateeb, R Sarathkumar and Teju Kolkhapuri in the key roles. 

The teaser or the trailer showed Kapil’s family worrying over his marriage and finding a perfect match with the intelligent and beautiful Sadia. However, the unexpected turn of events when the girl’s grand mother essayed by Neetu Singh shows keen interest to get married herself. This creates a big hurdle in Sadia’s family and an ultimatum is given to the family to stop the grandmother’s wedding or risk of losing the alliance with Kapil Sharma.

The film is scheduled for its release in the theatres on May 8th 2026.
